We are the Vegetarian/Vegan Caterer branch of Blue Duck Catering servicing
the Chicagoland area. Our focus is to provide delicious and innovative
plant-based cuisine for your private elegant home parties, wedding
receptions, meetings, office luncheons, open houses and any other
gatherings.
We use no animal products in our cooking so
our cuisine can be classified as vegetarian or vegan. We do not use seafood,
meats, dairy, eggs, honey, and oil or trace animal ingredients; if we use
any product that we did not make from scratch we read labels carefully to
ensure it is 100% vegan.
About Us
Gary Cole, Executive Chef, a graduate of the Cordon Bleau Cooking
and Hospitality Institute of Chicago has been delighting his friends and
family with delicious Vegetarian and Vegan creations for over 13 years and
has over 10 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry.
In 1998, Chef Cole decided to turn his passion into business by creating
Blue Duck Catering. With the passage of time Chef Cole realized that there
was a real need for food that should not only taste good, but should be good
for your body. Blue Basil Catering was selected as the brand to market the
new catering service that is founded on the principal that nutrition should
be plant based and oil free for a healthier lifestyle.

is an outgrowth of our attempt to help friends who have been diagnosed with
heart disease and want to reverse this condition by eating plant based
delicious meals developed and suggested by Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr.
M.D. in accordance with the principles described in his ground breaking book
“Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease”.

We endeavor to bring to you, our members and
friends, the best in vegetarian/ vegan whole food cookery. Heart disease,
diabetes, obesity, hypertension and cancer - these diseases and many others,
are often the direct results of the lifestyle choices we make. Many people
suffer from these diseases, unaware that they are preventable and even
reversible, unconscious that an easy solution is within reach. The answer
lies in lifestyle - a person's approach to living. Most of us eat and drink
too much, following the accepted lifestyle of society.
We exercise
frantically, but we often feel worse rather than better. We rest but can't

also provide you with personal chef services saving you time and frustration
by showing you insider tips and favorite recipes to use at home. We often
use local ingredients and can use all organic upon request. Our cuisine is
naturally cholesterol free with no fat or oil but never lacking in flavor or
creativity!
